Mixed signals...need relationship advice!?

I have been involved with this guy lately. It started out weird because we hung out once when his friend who liked me was out of town. But we totally hit it off and get along amazingly, we just have perfect chemistry. Anyways, we started talking on the phone alot, and he told me that he liked me at one point, but wasn't allowed to because of his friend, which makes sense. But then, over time we still kept developing our relationship and hung out more, and things have gotten umm, more sexual lets say. We always talk about hooking up and doing all this stuff, but it never works out because of scheduling. We text all the time, like everynight, and here is where it gets complicated. Once we were talking on the phone, and he talked about asking me out and what i would say, but he acted like he was joking around kind of. He knows that i like him, i have told him so. He always wants to uh, do stuff, but then five seconds later he will say something opposite to that.Mixed signals...need relationship advice!?
